It sounds like something starts messing up when it gets hot. ![]() ![]() Since it’s sputters and back fires it sounds electrical. And would never be an issue if you take the cap off. This issue would usually just stall you out like running out of fuel. But if the tank is low all that extra room can give you an extra 10 minutes or more in run time before there’s enough of a vacuum to stop it. On a full tank with little spare room for air this can happen within minutes. That would take as long as it takes to burn off enough fuel in the tank to create enough of a vacuum to stop the fuel from gravity feeding. But under full rpm or maybe only under load would make me think it’s fuel. It’s usually a constant problem which sometimes doesn’t cause issue at minimum rpm. It sounds like you’ve handled most of the fuel side of things and from my experience the fuel side doesn’t take time to rise. If the problem only occurs under load you know it’s a problem with with one of these two. An engine under heavy load produces a lot of heat in the engine and resistance on the moving parts of the engine. This takes power from the engine also known as load on the engine. When you are spraying the water is forced through the small tip under high pressure. high pressure hose is non-marring, flexible and abrasion resistant. Now it sounds like after a few minutes of spraying it starts to act up. All the water gets sent back to the front of the pump under no pressure therefore no load. H pressure hose is non-marring, flexible and abrasion resistant. It runs fine with no load which is what happens when you release the preassure. I also bought a pressure gauge and it’s running exactly at the 3000 PSI that the pump is rated.Īnybody have an idea of what it could be? Maybe I’m missing something basic? I don’t know much about small motors but the backfiring tells me it’s an air or fuel issue. I had the hose fully extended so no water or mist could potentially make it back to it and it still did the same thing so I don’t think the gas cap is it but I want to be safe. ![]() I might run up to HD and grab a new gas cap just to check and make sure that’s not it. I checked the gas cap and it looks like the vent holes are open. The only thing I could find on YouTube is people saying it’s the gas cap. Replaced all governor springs and throttle springs.Įmptied gas tank, let it dry, and blew it out with compressed air. New spark plug, air filter, carb, fuel lines, spark plug.Ĭhecked valves and adjusted them according to an online guide. ![]() It would backfire a couple of times and the die. It would almost stall and if I let off the trigger, it would be rev back up for 10 seconds or so until it started sputtering without being under load. I fired it up today and it ran perfectly for about 10 minutes and then it started struggling and backfiring when under load. I think I almost have it running normally again. Below is a list of the all the troubleshooting I’ve done. So I have been working on this pressure washer for the past month on the weekends. ![]()
